Znenazdajky sa otočil k človeku, ktorý sedel pri vedľajšom stole, a dal mu takúto hádanku: "Keď vyrastie, odsúdia ju na smrť a zotnú. Druhý život žije zavretá v škatuli. Keď ju objavia, zapália ju a zomrie do piatich minút. Čo je to?"

Keď starý bača skončil dennú robotu, sadol si spolu s návštevníkmi salaša k ohňu. Popíjali žinčicu a pozerali na západ slnka. Vtedy sa bača zahľadel do diaľky a dal im takúto hádanku:
"Keď sa zastavíte a pozriete pred seba, vždy ho vidíte. Ak sa ho chcete dotknúť, neucítite ho. Nemôže sa pohnúť, ale vždy keď sa k nemu chcete priblížiť, vzdiali sa od vás. O čom hovorím?"
